Actimux Power15 : Analogue input description

Analogue inputs of POWER ECU can be configured either as: NOT Used
Analogue input Used
the INA configuration is set by the parameter "MODE".

1-Input not used

If the input’s Mode parameter is set to “not used“. The input is not considered, and there are no parameters or mnemonics to connect. Only the Mode parameter is available to allow the use of the input (moving to Analogue input used configuration).

2 - Analogue input used

This input is dedicated for resistance measurement with two possible ranges:

  • High resistance measurement: 500 Ohms to 10K Ohms with accuracy less than 5%.
  • Low resistance measurement: 3 Ohms to 500 Ohms with accuracy less than 10%.
  • The range selection can be done dynamically if, the "dynamic Range" option is checked.
  • The input value is available for Application as an analogue value with the mnemonic "Input_Ana".
The value unit is related to the Range selected, see table below for details on values accuracy :

  • 1 ohm for High Resistance range.
  • 0.01 ohm for Low Resistance range.
  • 0.2 ohm for Dynamic Range selection.
  • A valid range can be defined with 2 thresholds adjustable by parameter from Application Software. See model below.
The threshold can be set outside the range cited previously, hence the accuracy cannot be guaranteed. more details in the following table:

Alert! Advanced: If threshold value is null, the fault detection will be disabled.

    Range Threshold value Acuracy
    High Range : 500-10 k ohms 1- 500 ohms accuracy not guaranted
    500 ohms - 10 k ohms less then 5% acuracy
    10 k ohms - 50 k ohms accuracy not guaranted
Low Range : 3-500 ohms 0.01-3 ohms accuracy not guaranted
3-10 ohms less then 1 ohm
    10-500 ohms less then 10 %
Dynamic Range : 3 ohms-10 Kohms 0.02-3 ohms accuracy not guaranted
3-10 ohms less then 1 ohm
    10-500 ohms less then 10 %
    500 ohms - 10 k ohms less then 5% acuracy
    10 k ohms - 50 k ohms accuracy not guaranted
    Threshold profile

threshold_fault value indicates to the Application that the input is outside the valid range.
The fault detection is monitored by the Equipment Variable (more details).
It's possible to apply a filtering on this input.
The filtering gain is adjustable with parameter "Filtering Value".The filtering value is adjustable between 5ms to 480ms.
The recurrence period of the ANA frame is set through the "Recurr. Period: Frame ANA" parameter, which is common for all INA inputs of the POWER ECU. This frame is sent by the POWER ECU slave to the master to inform about its input value.

Alert! Advanced: It is not possible to move to “Not used” configuration while mnemonics are connected.

The following table gave correspondence between the mnemonic ad the type of variable in STraToN :
    Mnemonic STraToN Type
    'Input_Ana'
    WORD
    'Threshold-Fault'
    BOOL
    'Equipment'
    BOOL
