Actimux Power66 : Analog Inputs description

Analogue inputs of POWER ECU can be configured either as:

1 - Not Used
2 - Analogue input Used

The INA configuration is chosen by the parameter “Mode”.

1 - Not Used

If the input’s Mode parameter is set to “not used“.The input is not considered, and there are no parameters or mnemonics to connect. Only the Mode parameter is available to allow the use of the input (moving to Analogue input used configuration).

If the analogue input is not used it's important to choose this mode because in this case the associated CAN frame is not send.

2- Analogue Input Used

2.1 - Characteristics

This input is dedicated for resistance measurement with two possible ranges:
2.2 - Parameters

The following parameters are to be set for the Analogue inputs function :

2.2.1. -Parameters description
Category parameter Description
General 'Filtering value'
The filtering gain is adjustable between 5 ms to 480 ms.
'Period Frame' This parameter set the period of the analogue frame. This parameters must be set to minimize the CAN BUS load.
Fault Params Dynamic Range to Dynamically calculate the Range for threshold parameters
'Measure Type' This parameter set the range of the analogue input if the "Dynamic Range" is not selected.
there are 2 possibles ranges:
  • Low resistance : 3 ohms to 500 ohms
  • High resistance :500 ohms to 10kohms.
  • Low threshold A valid range can be defined with 2 adjustable thresholds.
the value unit is related to the Range selected, see table below for details on values accuracy :
  • 1 ohm for High Resistance range.
  • 0.01 ohm for Low Resistance range.
  • 0.2 ohm for Dynamic Range selection.
  • Alert! Advanced: If threshold value is null, the fault detection will be disabled.

    See model below
    High threshold

    2.2.2. -Thresholds accuracy details
    Range Threshold value Accuracy
    High Range : 500-10 k ohms 1- 500 ohms accuracy not guaranteed
    500 ohms - 10 k ohms less then 5% accuracy
    10 k ohms - 50 k ohms accuracy not guaranteed
Low Range : 3-500 ohms 0.01-3 ohms accuracy not guaranteed
3-10 ohms less then 1 ohm
    10-500 ohms less then 10 %
Dynamic Range : 3 ohms-10 KOhms 0.02-3 ohms accuracy not guaranteed
3-10 ohms less then 1 ohm
    10-500 ohms less then 10 %
    500 ohms - 10 k ohms less then 5% accuracy
    10 k ohms - 50 k ohms accuracy not guaranteed

    2.3 -Mnemonics

The mnemonics names for Powers ECU IO must applies a set of rules more details.

The following mnemonics are available for the analogue input function:

    Mnemonic STraToN Type Description
Input_Ana WORD The input value is available for Application as an analogue.
This value is given in ohm for high resistor
This value is given in 0,01ohm for low resistor
Threshold_fault BOOL This value indicates to the Application that the input is Outside the right level.
Equipment BOOL The usage of the variable of default "Threshold_fault" is not active while the variable connected to this mnemonic has its value to 'False' ( more details ).
