This file contains instructions for the installation and
operation of the WABCO diagnostic software.

WABCO Vehicle Control Systems does not accept

The program has been exhaustively tested by us 
and functions perfectly on our systems. The 
program runs under Windows XP and Vista. However, 
we expressly declare that no guarantee can be 
given and no liability accepted in respect of 
the program's executability. We can accept no 
liability for any material damage sustained
through use of the application unless such damage
is the result of intent or gross negligence on our
part. Liability under the German Product Liability 
Act and any other binding regulations remains 
unaffected hereby. Your installation of the software 
constitutes your confirmation that you have read 
and acknowledged this disclaimer of liability.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

- Pentium PC (or better)
- at least 256 MB RAM
- min. 100 MB free hard disc space
- colour display, screen resolution at least 1024x768
- 1 free COM port (9-pin connector)
  or USB connection
- Operating System: Microsoft XP or Vista 
  or compatible successors of these systems

PURPOSE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE:

In the vehicle workshop, WABCO control systems can be 
easily diagnosed on the vehicle. Any faults occuring 
during driving will be recognized by the WABCO system.
They will then be indicated to the driver and stored 
in the system.
Using this software, these faults can be retrieved in the 
workshop in order to be repaired and deleted from the system.
Furthermore the software provides additional functions for 
the purpose of testing the system on the vehicle, 
e.g. activation of individual components.
For further information please refer to the help function
included in the installed software.

INSTALLATION:

Start Windows. Close all running programs.
Start installation by double clicking >Setup.exe< 
and follow the on-screen instructions.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RUNNING THE SOFTWARE:

The software can only be run with the 
WABCO Diagnostic Interface being connected. 
If the program is started without the diagnostic 
interface, an error message will be displayed.
By clicking the "Cancel" button you can run the
program anyhow, but the functions will be limited.  
The establishment of the data link, however,
will be interrupted. 
In this case, all functions that require a live data 
link to the ECU will be switched off.

CONNECTIONS:

In order to run the software, the WABCO diagnostic
interface has to be connected to the PC and to the 
vehicle's diagnostic socket. The PC to interface 
cable is included with the interface. The cable 
from the interface to the vehicle has to be ordered 
separately to match the vehicle diagnostic socket 
or made up by hand.
(see pin assignment, below) 


The vehicle should provide the diagnostic interface
with an unswitched power feed (terminal 30), the  
LED on the interface should be on - even with the 
ignition off. If this is not the case, problems 
might occur in the operation of the software.

KNOWN PROBLEMS:

The modification and/or move of files belonging to 
the installed program can cause run time errors.
These actions should therefore be avoided.

Insufficient PC performance for the diagnostic 
Software can lead to interruption of the data flow
between the PC and the vehicle electronics.
In this case try closing any running programs to
free up memory.
