Recorder installation

Please observe the following before starting the installation of the Recorder:

Always install the Recorder or ALADIN first before connecting the delivered hardware to the USB port or the serial interface of your PC.

You must have administrator rights to install the Recorder. For questions and/or changes concerning your PC rights, please contact your system administrator (PC responsible).

If an older version of the Recorder is already installed on your PC, you must remove it first. Personal settings and existing measuring files will not be deleted.

Minimum system requirements:

Free serial interface RS232 COM1 or free USB port for communication with a transmission control unit.

Pentium^® or adequate processor with at least 700 MHz

Microsoft^®Windows^® 2000 or Windows XP operating system

256 MB RAM or more

CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive

80 MB free memory space on the hard disk + additional memory space for storing measuring data

Graphic card and monitor with 16 bit color depth and a resolution of 1024 X 786 or higher.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 6.0 SP2 or higher

The actual requirements and the product functionality may vary depending on the system configuration of the operating system.

You can also use the Recorder on a PC with Windows 98/Me operating system. However, only K-line interfaces with RS232 interface are supported in this case.

Exit all programs and applications.

Insert the Voith ALADIN / Recorder CD in the CD / DVD drive.

If the setup program is not started automatically, call up the Windows Explorer. The installation is started by double-clicking the "start.exe" program.

The splash screen of the setup program appears.

Click the symbol Install Recorder.

You must accept the license agreement with Accept, otherwise the installation will not continue. Carefully read the license agreement before accepting.

You can also permanently activate the display of "active scripting" in your browser. The Recorder InstallShield Wizard opens automatically upon selection.

Follow the instructions on the screen. Your PC does not have to be restarted after the installation. If an older version of the Recorder is already installed on your PC, you must remove it first. Personal settings and existing measuring files will not be deleted.

If you want to remove a Recorder version from your PC, please click Start > Programs > Voith Turbo > Remove Recorder in Windows. The removal program is started. Follow the instructions on the screen. Your PC does not have to be restarted after the removal. Personal settings and existing measuring files will not be deleted.
