Using the Trigger in the Recorder
The Trigger function of the Recorder is used to reduce the amount of measuring data and/or to record only specific events. For this purpose, a so-called trigger list with different trigger objects can be created. If you activate the Trigger function in the Recorder with the Trg button in the toolbar, the measuring data recording will be started, as soon as a trigger object has been initiated. The Trigger function can also be switched on or off at any time during measuring data recording.
Click Recorder > Trigger Properties... menu item in the Recorder.

The trigger objects are displayed with a preceding yellow folder symbol in the list. The trigger conditions are shown below with a preceding green cube. You can edit both the trigger objects and the trigger conditions by double-clicking the corresponding entry.
Click the New Trigger button. The new trigger object is added to the trigger list automatically.
Select the trigger object to be deleted from the trigger list and click Delete.
Select the trigger object to be defined for a new condition and click the Add Condition button.
Select the condition to be deleted and click Delete.
To edit the trigger properties, double-click either the trigger object or select the trigger object and click the
Properties button. The Trigger Properties window appears.

All trigger conditions must be met to initiate a trigger object. To edit the trigger conditions, select a trigger condition from the trigger list and click the
Properties button.

Select any signal to be triggered to in the Signal field. Then select a condition in the Condition field and a corresponding number in the Value field.
Example:
| Signal |

| ECU signal: Engine speed |
<= |
500 |
The condition in the example is met if the engine speed is less or equal 500.
To be able to record trigger events even shortly before or shortly after a trigger event, the required time can be set under "Pre Trigger Time" and "Post Trigger Time".
