Effects on the driving operation Functions which are triggered by a certain brake pedal position are not available, e.g.: * No ANS. * No gear release (no drive mode). * No retarder activation if it is requested via the brake pedal position.
Possible causes The brake pedal position received via CAN has never shown a released brake pedal in the current operating cycle although it can be assumed that the vehicle was not permanently braked. Possible causes are: * Defect at the brake switch that permanently leads to a too great brake pedal position. * The sending control unit delivers a too great brake pedal position.

Troubleshooting
Check whether the brake switch provides a pedal position '0'. Check the CAN message and contact the manufacturer of the sending unit if necessary (with SAE J1939 see EBC1 (Electronic Brake Controller #1), 'brake pedal position' ).
