K-line interfaces for connecting the transmission control unit and the PC

A K-line interface (level converter) is required for connecting the transmission control unit to the PC. It is available both with a USB interface and an RS232 (COM) port. If the transmission control unit has been installed in the vehicle, it depends on the vehicle manufacturer whether you need an additional adapter connector in the vehicle or not.

How to connect the K-line interface with a serial RS232 interface:

Turn your PC off. Connect the serial RS232 connector (image to the left) to the serial port of your PC (image in the center). Connect the diagnostic connector (image to the right) to the diagnostic port in the vehicle. Depending on the vehicle, you might need an adapter connector. Configure the Recorder for the use of a serial K-line interface.
