Description Fault during the plausibility check in the transmission control unit. The CAN signals ´Requested Gear´ and ´Requested Range´ from the CAN message TC1 are contradictory. With DIWA.5, ´Requested Gear´ serves to read the information on the driving direction; ´Requested Range´ is used to determine the allowed gear range.
Effects on the driving operation Driving is not possible. The transmission shifts to neutral. The optional limp-home switch allows continuing the drive.
Possible causes Defect of the Voith CAN gear range selector or defect of the MAN-FFR (vehicle control computer) for systems without Voith CAN gear range selector. The message TC1 is affected. In MAN vehicles: The FFR temporarily sends forward and reverse information simultaneously. The fault is located in the FFR software. (Version 2005)
