Description

Overtemperature at the TIM module (>125°C).

Effects on the driving operation

No communication with the TIM possible. Unable to read the transmission-specific data. The vehicle might drive with the wrong transmission configuration.

Possible causes

The transmission temperature is too high.

The transmission oil temperature sensor might be defective.

The software version of the transmission control unit does not match the software version of the TIM.

Internal fault in the transmission control unit.

Internal fault in the TIM.

Location

Engine speed sensor

(negative terminal of sensor or sensor circuit)

Instruction

Let the transmission oil temperature (corresponds to the TIM temperature) cool down below 90°C.

Clear fault memory.

If the fault reoccurs, contact the Voith customer service.

Final function check

If the defective component cannot be clearly identified, you should try to reproduce the fault:

  • Reinstall the component in the vehicle.
  • Test function.

After the fault has been eliminated, the following steps have to be carried out:

  • Conduct a test drive with function check.
  • Read the fault memory
  • Check transmission for leaks.
  • Perform a final visual inspection.

These steps are necessary to ensure the entire vehicle functions correctly.
