UDS Unified Diagnostic Services
UDS is a diagnostics protocol for controllers and is specified according to ISO 14229. Unlike the predecessor KWP2000, UDS does not define its own hardware layer. The UDS protocol uses the CAN bus for data transfer instead. Thus, the K-Line is omitted for vehicle diagnostics.
UDS does not define a standardized bit rate. The bit rates of diverse vehicle manufacturers are therefore different. In ALADIN, the corresponding bit rate is always determined automatically with the start of the communication. For this to be possible, you can only carry out the UDS diagnostics using a Voith SmartCase.
Do not use any other interfaces from third party providers for the UDS communication. An incorrect bit rate would lead to CAN warning fault entries in all connected controllers.
