FAQ

What may I do in which User Level? I need the User Level

The User Level known from ALADIN 1 to 3 no longer exists in ALADIN 6 in this form. Some exceptions are the Customer Level without any special access authorization and a new Expert Level specially for Voith employees.
ALADIN 6 works with license files that are specially created for each user and can contain any combination of rights.
The question can therefore no longer be answered as before.

In my ALADIN I cannot see a function or a fault in the fault memory. But other users can.

All displays in ALADIN depend on your access authorization. What is not included in your access authorization is not displayed either.

Contents of an ECU file.

All data are always contained in an ECU file, the access authorization filters only affect the display.

The ECU files are so small. I can delete them.

WRONG! In older ALADIN versions, here and there parts of the diagnostics data were stored in files that were also called ECU files and only needed a few kilobytes of storage. These files could be deleted.
In ALADIN 6, no data are stored temporarily. The ECU files are so small because the content has been compressed. Please do not delete these ECU files.

Must ALADIN be deleted before an update?

No. ALADIN 6 can receive a newer version directly in an update. This is not true of ALADIN 3. For this reason, ALADIN 6 and ALADIN 3 can be installed together on a PC.

When are operating data deleted?

If the software in a controller receives an update, the operating data are deleted in some cases. This behavior depends on the version of the operating data. If the operating data version changes, the operating data are deleted. You can see the version in the reporting of the operating data, for example.

Which software needs which Loader?

If the software in a controller receives an update, a new Loader is required in some cases. Which software which Loader needs cannot be answered. The dataset decides which Loader is required. The correct Loader is automatically checked and used via the "Load dataset" download function.
