Description

The operating voltage of the gear range selector is outside the allowed tolerance compared to the operating voltage of the transmission control unit.

The admissible deviation is +/-5V.

Effects on the driving operation

The flexible inputs and the flexible output at the gear range selector are non-functional.

Possible causes

Ground potential difference between the transmission control unit and the gear range selector.

Smaller operating voltage of the gear range selector than the transmission control unit.

The analog-to-digital converter in the gear range selector is defective.

Place of action

No description available.

Instruction

Check voltage difference between gear range selector and transmission control unit.

The operating voltage difference measured against the respective ground potential of the control unit must not exceed 5V.

Check cabling.

Setting conditions of the event

No description available.

Testing conditions of the event

No description available.

Final function check

If the defective component cannot be clearly identified, you should try to reproduce the fault:

  • Reinstall the component in the vehicle.
  • Test function.

After the fault has been eliminated, the following steps have to be carried out:

  • Conduct a test drive with function check.
  • Read the fault memory
  • Check transmission for leaks.
  • Perform a final visual inspection.

These steps are necessary to ensure the entire vehicle functions correctly.
