The forced download is required if no communication is possible between ALADIN and the transmission control unit after function software or the dataset has been loaded. This problem can occur if a function software version or a dataset version is loaded that is incompatible with the transmission control unit or if the loaded Hex files are damaged. The forced download forces the transmission control unit to ignore the function software in the transmission control unit and to activate the Flash Loader. The transmission control unit then expects the function software and the dataset to be redownloaded.
To carry out a forced download, you need a forced download plug.
The forced download plug can be ordered under the item number 150.00115710.
The forced download plug has a key for bringing the transmission control unit to the forced download mode, as well as a red LED for status display.
How to carry out a forced download:
1
Turn the vehicle's ignition off.
2
Disconnect the plugs A, B and C from the transmission control unit.
3
Connect the forced download plug to jack B.
4
Press the key at the forced download plug and turn the ignition on while pressing the key.
5
Release the key. The status display of the forced download plug should now flash with approx. 1 Hz (once per second). If the status display does not light permanently or flashes very quickly, the device is not
ready to receive the download. In this case, switch the ignition off and repeat step 4.
6
Download the function software and the dataset with ALADIN.
7
Switch the ignition off and reconnect the plugs A, B and C to the transmission control unit. You can now restart the transmission.
