CAN (Controller Area Network) according to SAE J1939


The CAN bus is an asynchronous, serial field bus that was developed for intelligent networking of control units in automobiles by Bosch in 1983. The CAN bus is a standard for communication in the vehicle's drive line today. It comprises: transmission control unit - engine control unit - vehicle master computer - etc. CAN is standardized according to ISO 11898.
