Introduction into ALADIN and vehicle diagnosis
In the world of vehicle diagnosis, you will face the most different tasks every day. ALADIN therefore includes a variety of functions that are all combined in the generic term "diagnosis" and will support your work with the Voith DIWA.5 transmissions.
 |
|
Unlike other common fault memories, Voith DIWA.5 transmissions have been equipped with an event memory. During transmission runtime, the transmission control unit stores various data, in order to provide you with a maximum range of information. The system not only detects faults in the transmission but also generates warnings and notes that enable the Voith customer service to offer perfect service work. The event memory differentiates between hundreds of different events, in order to ensure highest precision in the detection of events. To be able to allocate all events directly to a source, every event has its own fault code. This code indicates what has happened and where. In addition, every event is assigned a priority that differentiates between fault, notes and warnings. Of course, ALADIN not only displays fault codes. There is an HTML page for each event in ALADIN providing information on an event in plain text.

|
The ALADIN ECU report is the central display element for all important information on a vehicle. The ECU report not only includes entries of the event memory but also supports you both in analyzing and optimizing the complete vehicle by means of file contents such as operating data, the display of the shift program configuration or the CAN bus scanner named "Scourcer". When the data is read from a transmission control unit, an ECU file is always created and stored locally on your hard disk. These ECU files enable you to exchange vehicle data with the Voith customer service or to archive the data. For example, you can use the ECU files and the ALADIN difference report to compare different vehicles of one fleet or the same vehicle at different points in time.

|
Apart from evaluating events, ALADIN also provides functions that support you in the maintenance, the installation of a new transmission and troubleshooting in your vehicle. For this purpose, ALADIN has been divided into the following areas:
| Upload |
The upload reads the event memory of a transmission control unit and creates an ALADIN ECU report. |
|
|
| Download |
The download can be used to load HEX files (software or dataset) to a transmission control unit. |
|
|
| Data input |
Configuration |
- EOL:
The EOL configuration can be used to adjust the vehicle configuration (dataset).
- Shift program
With the shift program configuration, the required shift program is assigned to each position of the gear range selector. In addition, you can define shift program characteristics, for example, considering topography.
- TIM
The TIM (Transmission Identification Module) is an extra storage module that is installed in the transmission and not in the transmission control unit. It is the electronic rating plate of a DIWA transmission.

| Service |
Service data |
Service data is used to optimize services, allocate an ECU file to a service case and to manage the ECU data in the central Voith database. |
|
| Diagnosis |
- Actuator test
The actuator test supports targeted troubleshooting on the solenoid valves.
- Reset function
Diagnosis provides various delete functions.
- Oil change / drain converter
Drain converter is a procedure for oil change support where as much as possible waste oil is drained from the converter without the mechanic getting into contact with waste oil.
- Oil level trend data
The trend data of the oil level check is used to monitor the oil level throughout the entire transmission runtime.
|
|
| Monitors |
Monitors provides the option of testing actuators, sensors and control elements in the vehicle and of displaying the currently active position. |
|
| Recorder |
The Recorder enables you to carry out test drives and to record the most important data such as speeds, torques, temperatures and gear range selector positions. |
|
| Clear fault memory |
Clears the event memory |
