Display identification data in the report

Identification data describes the elements that the entire DIWA.5 transmission system is composed of. This includes, among other things, the transmission, the control hardware and the software. Thus, it is possible to select the appropriate component in the event of changes (e.g., a new dataset for new vehicle requirements or service work). Every element of the transmission system has separate identification data that was assigned during production and cannot be changed subsequently.

The identification data is divided into: control unit and component:

Control unit:

Control unit Version Material number Date Info
Hardware E300.1 150.00001321 2006-06-19 36MHz V1
Software E300.1-D5.2.0.0 150.00261410 2006-09-29
Dataset E300.1-D5.2.0.0-08154701 150.00263201 2006-08-25
Entire control system ECU-E300.1-D5.2.0.0-08154701 150.08154701 2006-12-01
Loader F05.05.03-u

The transmission control unit comprises of the hardware, the function software, a dataset and a Loader. Hardware, software and dataset form the entire control system.

Hardware

The hardware can be either an E300 or an E300.1 controller. The hardware identification data includes the hardware version, the appropriate material number and the manufacturing date. The system block (processor speed) is indicated as additional information. This data is entered during production and cannot be changed.

Software

The software identification data includes the software version, the appropriate material number and the manufacturing date. The software version name is always composed of the identifier for the supported hardware (E300 or E300.1-), D for a DIWA / N for a NOWA transmission and the version number (e.g., 5.2.0.0). The two last numbers must always be "0.0". If you load a new software to the transmission control unit, the software identification data is changed automatically.

Dataset

The dataset identification data includes the dataset version, the appropriate material number and the manufacturing date. The dataset version name is always composed of the identifier for the software version the dataset may be used with (E300.1-D5.2.0.0 - see software) and an 8-digit number for the dataset.  The dataset number consists of a 6-digit identifier (e.g., 081547) and a 2-digit modification index (e.g., 01). If a change in the dataset should be necessary, the index will be increased. If you load a new dataset to the transmission control unit, the dataset identification data is changed automatically.

Entire control system

The entire control system identification data includes the version, the appropriate material number and the manufacturing date. The entire control system version name always comprises of the "ECU" for the entire control system, the hardware used (E300.1-), the software version (D5.2.0.0-) and the dataset number (08154701). The identifier "150." and the dataset number yield the material number. The date of the entire control system indicates when the software and the dataset were loaded to the transmission control unit and thus became a entire control system. If you load a new software or a new dataset to the transmission control unit, a new entire control system with a new date will be created automatically.

Loader

The loader is a software in the transmission control unit that has the function to load function software and datasets to the transmission control unit. The existence of a loader is therefore inevitable for putting a transmission control unit into operation. The loader designation starts with an "F" (for "flash"), followed by the version number. Two different loaders are currently available.  Version F04.04.07-u for transmission control units of the E300 series and version F05.05.03-u for the E300.1 series.

The hardware, software, dataset and entire control system designations are so-called descriptive numbers. Every designation allows to read the conditions that must be met for correct functioning. The function software is always developed for a specific hardware that is indicated by the designation E300 or E300.1 in the name. Datasets are always created for a specific software that, again, requires a specific hardware. This is why the dataset version always contains the name of the software version including the hardware identifier (e.g., E300.1-D5.2.0.0). The entire control system always requires hardware, software and dataset and it can only be created if all three components are compatible. That is why the name of the entire control system always includes the complete hardware-software-dataset identification. If you attempt to put a entire control system with incompatible components into operation, this can already be seen in the identification data. The transmission system will respond to this attempt with the "forced neutral" condition.

Transmission

The transmission identification data includes the transmission version, the material number, the manufacturing date and the transmission serial number. The version number and the material number are always identical. For further information on the transmission version, please see: DIWA.5 modules and rating plate.

The transmission identification data is read by the transmission control unit from the TIM (Transmission Identification Module) when the transmission is activated.

Gear range selector

The gear range selector identification data includes the gear range selector version, the material number, the manufacturing date and the serial number. The gear range selector version number always includes "ECU" for electronic control unit, the hardware identifier (e.g., E330.01), the gear range selector software version (e.g., G01.03) and a consecutive number. Communication between the gear range selector and the transmission control unit is always done via the CAN bus. In the event of communication problems (entry in the event memory), the identification data of the gear range selector will not be displayed.

Identification data - raw data table with scaling table:

While the above specifications display all the Voith identification data in formatted form, the raw data table contains all the identification data including OEM-specific data.
The output of the identification raw data table can be switched ON or OFF in the ALADIN Setup. For further information, please see: Report setup.

The scaling table is formatted according to KWP2000. This includes an offset, the LId (Local Identifier / what data area), the format (e.g., ASCII or BCD) and the length of the contents (identification data).
The LId is helpful for quickly finding a value in the raw value table. It has been standardized in such a way that the VIN (vehicle identification number) always has the LId 90.

All LIds that are not used are referred to as "identifiers".
