Description

Control unit and transmission are not compatible. The transmission corresponding to the software is not connected to the E300 control unit.

Effects on the driving operation

The transmission control unit switches into the mode "forced neutral". This means that driving is not possible.

Possible causes

The attempt was made to operate a E300 control unit with Diwa5 software at a NPU transmission (or vice versa). This is not allowed.

Location

Engine speed sensor

(negative terminal of sensor or sensor circuit)

Instruction

The E300 control unit used here must be installed into a transmission which corresponds to the software (e.g. a Diwa5 software can only be used together with a Diwa5 transmission).

Setting conditions for the event

Test conditions for the event

Final function check

If the defective component cannot be clearly identified, you should try to reproduce the fault:

  • Reinstall the component in the vehicle.
  • Test the function.

After the fault has been eliminated, the following steps have to be carried out:

  • Conduct a test drive with function check.
  • Read out the fault memory.
  • Check the transmission for leaks.
  • Perform a final visual inspection.

These steps are necessary to ensure the entire vehicle functions.
