Description

No TIM module available or the device information of the TIM is not correct or certain ECU signals (transmission temperature, retarder oil temperature, output speed or engine speed) are not available.

Effects on the driving operation

No communication with the TIM possible. Unable to read the transmission-specific data. The vehicle might drive with the wrong transmission configuration.

Possible causes

No TIM module available.

Device identification of the TIM is not correct.

ECU signals (transmission temperature, retarder oil temperature, output speed or engine speed) are not available.

Internal fault in the transmission control unit.

Location

ECU software, TIM.

Instruction

Make a TIM module available or the TIM hardware identification must be programmed again or check the ECU signals (see fault type).

Clear fault memory.

If the fault reoccurs, contact the Voith customer service.

Setting conditions for the event

No description available.

Test conditions for the event

No description available.

Final function check

If the defective component cannot be clearly identified, you should try to reproduce the fault:

  • Reinstall the component in the vehicle.
  • Test the function.

After the fault has been eliminated, the following steps have to be carried out:

  • Conduct a test drive with function check.
  • Read out the fault memory.
  • Check the transmission for leaks.
  • Perform a final visual inspection.

These steps are necessary to ensure the entire vehicle functions.
