Description The transmission control unit does not receive any information on the selected gear from the CAN gear range selector. At least one of the CAN signals ´Requested Gear´ or ´Requested Range´ is not available. With DIWA.5, ´Requested Gear´ serves to read the information on the driving direction; ´Requested Range´ is used to determine the allowed gear range.
Effects on the driving operation Driving is not possible. The transmission shifts to neutral. The optional limp-home switch allows continuing the drive.
Possible causes CAN communication disturbed. Defect of the Voith CAN gear range selector or defect of the MAN-FFR (vehicle control computer) for systems without Voith CAN gear range selector. The message TC1 is affected.
