Description

The internal logic of the microcontroller in the transmission control reports a so-called 'Class-B Hardware Trap'. Processing of the running program was interrupted.

The 'hardware trap' refers to a command code branch to an odd address:

-> Illegal Instruction Access Flag - ILLINA.

'Hardware traps' are caused by faults or special system conditions within the microcontroller.

There are 'Class A traps' and 'Class B traps'.

Effects on the driving operation

Reset of the transmission control unit.

Operation mode 'forced neutral'.

No driving operation.

Possible causes

The software attempts branching to an odd address.

Place of action

No description available.

Instruction

Load the latest software version approved for the vehicle.

If the fault persists, please consult the VOITH customer service and state the type of fault and the system description of the fault location.

Setting conditions of the event

No description available.

Testing conditions of the event

No description available.

Final function check

If the defective component cannot be clearly identified, you should try to reproduce the fault:

  • Reinstall the component in the vehicle.
  • Test function.

After the fault has been eliminated, the following steps have to be carried out:

  • Conduct a test drive with function check.
  • Read the fault memory
  • Check transmission for leaks.
  • Perform a final visual inspection.

These steps are necessary to ensure the entire vehicle functions correctly.
