Interface Manager

The Interface Manager is the software component which assumes the communication between ECU and PC in all current and future diagnostic programs.Generally it appears as a narrow data window at the bottom of the accessing application

IFM

The IFM can administer several electronic control units with different control uni addresses at one K-Line and several communication interfaces.

Communication displays:

The communication status is displayed in the data window of the Interface Manager on the left side. Here a coloured LED smbol displays the different states, as indicated in the following description. On the right sidde you find a written text indicating communication details, such as interface, port and baud rate.

Red Communication is interrupted
Yellow The Interface Manager searches for connected electronic control units
Green 1 Communication is active (with a high data throughout)
Green 2 Communication is active (with a low data throughout)

Settings Communication settings

The Interface Manager has own configuration dialogs for setting  all communication properties.
Monitor Communication Monitor

The Interface Manager has a separate window for the monitoring of communication
Switch Switching to next control unit

The Interface Manager can operate serveral ECUs with different addresses at one K-Line, such as a E300.1 DIWA.5H and a M300 DIWAhybrid controller.

Important communication settings:

Index card Interface

In the index card Interface you have to indicate the type of communication interfaces and the baud rate you wish to communicate with. Make sure that the interface you want to work with is activated in this place.

For each Interface it is possible to set the baud rate independent of other interfaces. The baud rate used mainly depends on the number of electronic control units at the K-line in the vehicle and on the cable length of the K-line-bus.

You achieve the best communication results with an adapter, which separates the electronic control unit from the remaining K-line-bus.

Index card Address

By default under Address you only find the default address 18h for transmission control units. If you wish a M300-control unit even for converters, you have to enter the address C8h under

´ECU address order´.

´ECU address order´ also indicates the sequence the ECUs are scanned with.
